Boggs bad from dead stop

1985 Delta 88, 307, 200r4, all stock

From a dead stop, when I floor it the car will bog a lot, until it hits about 1500 RPMs or so, then it goes. It revs VERY slow to that point.

I bought a new fuel filter, but have not installed it yet. Floor it while driving, no problem, it hauls ***

Haven't had a Carb car do this ever. Don't have as much experience with carb'ed as FI

Could be a bad excelerator pump on the carb it is suppose to give a shot of fuel to get it over that hump. did this just start? when was the carb rebuilt ? just a couple of thoughts.

Yeah just started like 3 weeks ago. Don't know when the carb was rebuilt last. I bought the car in April

I don't have an advance can on the disturbtor. It's a computer advance. If I throw an eldebrock carb at it, I'll have to buy a new dist too

Sounds like a bad/stuck accelerator pump to me. You will have to remove the airhorn to inspect it.

I think your front vacuum break (aka choke pull-off) is bad. In addition to cracking open the choke when you first start it up, this device prevents the secondary air valve from slamming open when you floor it (has nothing to do with the choke).

Disconnect the little vacuum hose which feeds the pull-off, compress the plunger and hold it, then put a finger over the vacuum nipple and releae the plunger. If it extends, that shows the diaphram is broke and won't hold a vacuum. Replace.

I had a similar prob (when it was not 'too big of a cam related' issue) and it was the accel. pump in the carb IIRC.

Replaced the fuel filter today. Still boggs, but it much better. Respones quicker, but will bog to 1300 to 1400 rpms, before it was bogging to almost 2000

I will check other things that are mentioned

Would that be on the right front side of the carb if I'm standing infront of the car looking at it.

I pulled a vacuum line off that thing. I noticed when I was revving the motor to make sure the fuel wasn't leaking out of the fitler housing, the screw on the back of it, was moving a little bit (not much) I did put everything back the way it was, but when I pulled off the line, it was making a gurggling sucking noise

I'm at work so I'm looking up stuff

I looked up about this Accel pump. There is a see-saw type thing on top of the carb. I played with it and that's when the trouble started. Not really played with it, but I never noticed is before and I was like "Oh cool" after I pushed down on one side. I guess that's the problem

The vacuum break I'm talking about is on the front corner of the carb, passenger side.
