ive been reading all the post and viewing all the pics i can find of oldsmobiles on this site and i ve noticed that on almost all of the older 350's have the alternator on the drivers side, mine (which was out of a 70 conv.) has it on the passenger side, am i just missing something obvious or do i not have an "original" 350 or something?

 

Most cars that did not have A/C where on the passenger side. I dont think there is any other resons that it would be different but someone might chime in with a better answer.
