72 cutlass timing mark

want to get the timing right so im asking...what does the marking look like? is it a carving ? previous owner put chalk on two locations of the harmonic balancer so im a little confused.

Has it been converted to HEI? If so that would explain the extra marks. The original is a straight groove in the balancer. My guess would be the extra marks are at 10° and 20°. The HEI uses 20° initial @ 1100RPM where the stock points would be 8°.

There is a single groove in the balancer and a metal or plastic (depending on the year) tab bolted to the front cover.
