7111 Edelbrock and Holley install

I thought I would give a little review on installing the 7111 manifold and 80457 Holley on a 65 330 with AIR and PS. This manifold fit very well except you can't use the front or rear seals that come in a FelPro gasket set because you can't get the manifold down on the block to get the bolts started, a nice bead of silicone on both ends cured that problem, the PS bolted right on no problem, the Alt bracket had to be massaged to fit around an extra temp sender boss the Edelbrock cast into the manifold, the Air needed a little work to get it to fit, the big cast iron bracket that bolts to the manifold had to have about a 1/4" removed from the bottom because Edelbrock cast the mounting boss too tall but it was in the right spot, I got the original air cleaner to fit by using a cheapo 14" drop base air cleaner with the stock air cleaner top.

The results after the install are VERY good the car now starts properly, warms up properly and has good smooth power, the only changes I made to the carb when I rebuilt it was to install 1 size smaller main jet. I have found that this upgrade is well worth the money even on an almost stock engine.
