69 Cutlass 350 temperature sensor
Guys, I’ve been trying to get an answer to this question regarding the 2 prong aftermarket temperature sensor. My car has only 1 wire for the warning light but my new sensor has 2 prongs. No gauges in my car, just the light. From what I understand, the 2 prong sensor is used for either cars with cold & hot indicators or if a later model car has both light and gauges. Which prong should I use? How do I test for it? This photo is not my car but it is my setup.
Thanks for your help!

Guys, I think I got my answer from the O’Reilly’s website.
The “C” terminal on this Standard Ignition 2 Terminal Temperature Sensor Switch will switch off at 103 degrees Fahrenheit and the “R” terminal switches on at 246-263 degrees Fahrenheit.
I’ll just connect my wire to the “R” terminal.
Don’t understand why parts suppliers don’t have the correct part.

Because the 1969 full-size cars still had both cold and hot warning lamps and the part numbers are consolidated to reduce inventory.
You're not happy with it, get a sender for a 1971-later. The cold light was gone from all carlines by then.
