Just took my 68 Cutlass out for the first time with fresh rebuilt 350 and getaway trans. New tank, sending unit, fuel pump, carb...hell everything is brand new. Drove it on the road for first time today to get gas and after coming back from gas station (car shuts off and starts up every time no problem) I hit a pretty decent bump and engine cut out. Would not start up. After 5 mins of trying to start it I got out, took off air cleaner and move choke plate a few times. Fired right up like nothing wrong. Very strange. Wondering if this is a common problem when hitting large bumps which I will obviously avoid from now on.

Nooo not normal. I would start looking at my electrical connections around coil, and in distributor. If not there then check a loose firewall connector, or ignition switch wiring, etc...
