64 330 waterpump question
ok i have a 1964 cutlass with the 330 in it. the water pump has the radiator outlet on the driver side. they no longer make the molded hose for it so im trying to figure out how to switch to a water pump from a later year that has the outlet on the passenger side ive seen articles on doing the switch but cant seem to find them can anyone point me in the right direction please and thank you

Just use the flex hose thats what i originally did.
If you switch the pump you will have to switch the radiator. All your brackets will still line up if you use the 65 5.1" waterpump. Thats what i did later after i poked a hole in my radiator and went to an aluminum one.
If you have any other questions just ask.

If you have a real auto parts store around, you can send your pump out and have it rebuilt. That is what i did.
If you change to the '65 and later style. You will have to change the radiator lower outlet to the other side. the hose for that is still available.

It's even more than that. Besides changing the accessory brackets, you need to change the timing tab and balancer. As noted, either rebuild your original pump or use a flex hose. The 64 pumps show up on ebay frequently.

You dont have to change the brackets if you use the 65 5.1" water pump.
Here is my setup. 468 Olds, aluminum radiator, 65 5.1" water pump, all original 64 330 brackets.
I forgot about the timing tab, yes you have to swap to a drivers side timing tab. I have extras if you need one.
