First of all, sorry for my bad english

I have a few questions about the 350rocket engine, how much horsepowers/torque is it in a 350rocket?

I have a friend in canada whos going to sell his Oldsmobile Cutlass 69- , and i dont know much about it, nether do he.

And bye the way, is it a good car? It is not often you see a oldsmobile in sweden, many questions, many answers i hope

Hmm, 325hp? so much?

The owner of the car is an old friend of my father, att he think its just about 150hp mayby? My father drove the car once last year, when he was in canada..and it wasnt that fast nether...(lol, it isnt easy to write in english^^ )

 

My bad...that was for the W-31 motor.
It was either 250 hp/355 torque (2 barrel) or 310 hp/390 torque (4 barrel).

hmm, are you sure? It sounds pretty much?

And about the torque, u wrote : 360 ft/lbs , how much is it in NM (Newtons) ^^

 

355 ft/lbs=481 n/m
360 ft/lbs=488 n/m
390 ft/lbs=528 n/m

Mr C, there were various ways of measuring engine power here in America in the sixties and especially in the seventies. Not much control or continuity, some were at the rear wheels, some were at the crankshaft, I truthfully don't know how it was done at Oldsmobile in 1969 but I can say that all of Oldsmobiles engines are very torquey "is that a word?" I bet you could pull tree stumps with it!!!!!!!Performance on the road is also determined by the rear axle ratio. I know my '69 Delta has a 3:23rear axle ratio, great for highway driving but not too great for quick acceleration.

 

Most muscle cars had lots of torque, and it's a different feel then HP(horsepower). Also, most muscle cars were heavy. I don't know where you're from but 150HP in a light car can feel very fast, and the car's old, and can lose HP with time. By the way, that's a very nice looking car, and looks very clean. How much is he asking for it, and what language do you speak?

 

Hmm, true, but a cutlass 69 isnt a light car right? ^^


He asks for 10.000dollar (not much in swedish crowns). i speak Swedish and bad English ^^
