350 Swap pending?

Still looking for a 350 currently and might as well do some due diligence and gather opinions. One user is currently selling a 350 and he is local, I hope I can get my cash in first.

Current Set up is stock un-molested 307, headers, replaced carb. It looks like an oil leak is developing near the pan and I am just about to cross the 100k mark. Trans is 2004r with shift kit, replaced 20k miles ago. Rear is EATON HD 3:73 (replaced 15k ago, rated at 430 HP according the speed shop who sold it to me)

Once I find the 350 (looking for pre-smog, 68-71 4bbl), I am think new timing set, freeze plugs and pan gasket, water pump and swap the 307 HEI into a possible points motor (am I missing anything?) the car also needs new headers, Any recommendations? I found a pair of flo-techs for $155 on summit. They are not ceramic but frankly if the headers last 4-5 years I'll be happy.

Is it realistic to think I can do the swap myself over a weekend with Dad? Car has new rad, fan clutch, PS pump, Alt, batt.

What say you CO?

You can do the swap no sweat in one weekend . That is as long as the engine stuff is done before hand liked during the week. I have had engines swapped out and in and hooked up in less than 24 hrs. Not running but all set up to go with no prep time before hand .
