350 Afermarket Intake Manifold Bolts

Does any aftermarket company make intake manifold bolts for an olds 350 that fits and Edelbrock RPM intake Part # 7111? ARP's catalog and their tech assistance doesn't have a part# for Olds. T

The Edelbrock site says the PN 8514 is for the Olds 350, but that they only fit the 2711 and 3711 intakes. The problem is that I have the Edelbrock RPM 7111 intake.

Thanks
Manny

I'd run down to the bolt supply store and buy a new set of stainless bolts and 2 allen heads for the 2 tight spots and don't forget the AN washers, if you want real shiny polish them before installing.

I bet they would but you will probably have to make one of those special purpose ground down wrenches for getting them tight.

I ran into this same issue with my rpm eddy intake. I only ran into this prbloem with one bolt i tried the allen headed one but the washer would not let it work. i tried grinding the washer but it broke once i torqued it . I ended up using a stud for it., it was the furthest one in the middle pass. side between the runners its close to number 6 cylinder if that makes sence. For all the others i used hex bolts just fine. Even with the stud it was a tight squeeze for the nut i had to use the open end of a wrench and could not tourqe it. This was my experience and i had to mill my intake quite a bit to make it work since i milled my heads .024 . I just thought i would mention this dunno if it's a common issue with that runner .

According to Edelbrock's website the 7111 needs (2) 3/8-16x2 header bolts with 3/8ths AN washers. 2 inch header bolts are not very common, so I'll be heading to a nut and bolt supply store.

Got in touch with Edelbrock Tech Support. They are sending the bolts and washers for free for the 7111 intake. Thank U Dave @ Edelbrock.

FYI ARP 430-3201 Water Pump Bolt kit will work. It includes stainless 12pt headed 3/8-16 x 2 inch narrow headed bolts and the 3/8ths AN washers.

I had the same problem with my performer RPM. Andy at OPP has a nice 12 point set for this intake. I bought it and they work perfect.

rkk I spoke with Andy over email who mentioned that he didn't have anything in in chrome, stainless or plain old steel for the 7111 intake. Do you have you have black bolts? If so what PN was it?

Thanks

They are the black 12 point bolts. I will look for the receipt but if I can't find it I will post a pic. I am certain I bought them from Andy as I bought them the same time I bought my rocker arms.

OMG i had this same issue last night!

Stupid guy that sold me the 7111 didnt tell me anything about special bolts. I scratched up the runners a bit trying to get regular hex heads in...

Hey guys,

Old thread, I know. Regarding the Edelbrock 7111, I wondered how you all fit the "#7" (in the torque sequence) bolt (which would be the second bolt on the passenger side [between #2 and #4 cylinders]) onto the block properly. This is one of the supplied bolts from edelbrock. Secondly, where does the second "special bolt" go? All the rest look like a normal bolt will fit.

Finally, what are the proper length bolts for the middle four spots on the manifold?

Thanks!

Bryon

From what I remember, the "special" bolts go in the tight spots, and they are both on the same side of the engine. The bolt head needs to be small so it fits beside the tall intake runner wall. Should be very apparent when you try to install them.

Thank you Kenneth.

Any idea on the length of the middle four bolts?

One other thing I forgot to ask - and I made a huge mess today trying to figure this out - when installing the intake do you let the bead of high temp silicone on the front and back plane of the block set up before you place the intake and torque it down?

You have to install the intake before it sets up. I used a small flanged hex ( allen) bolt for the tight spots on my current set up. I tried the bolt kit and gave up so i went to the hardware store and bought what i needed.

Its been 4 years and since then i changed a few things lol. But that one bolt is always a serious pain in the @ss. I dont think i have ever been able to properly torque it either.
