Question 307 olds

how can you tell if your 307 olds motor is a h/o or not ? mine is a 84 motor?

What heads does it have? Does it still have an idle speed control at the carb? If so is it electric or vacuum?

an 84 should have 5A heads and is the better of the 307 motors.

Is it orginal to the car? If so, the VIN will have a 9 in it instead of a Y. That's why the 307 H/O is refered to as the "9" motor

It would have a normal sized balancer.
