Are you planning on using a computer controlled carb & distributor? If not, hook up the heavy red wire that goes to the positive side of the coil to a vacuum advance distributor. All other vacuum lines should hook up in similar locations, Olds didn't change much as far intake vacuum ports over the years. They just added a bunch of emissions stuff.

I was hoping to use the computer controlled carb and distributor but from what I was told I'd that it would basically hinder the engine if I were to use the the computer set up for the 307

If it is a low compression 350, your original carb and distributor will work.

If you're swapping carbs and doing away with CCC, you'll need a non-CCC distributor. When I did the conversion, there was a harness on the driver's side firewall for all of the basic engine controls and gauge sensors, and a harness on the passenger side firewall for all of the computer-related functions. Not sure if the layout is the same on your Cadillac. I bought my car with no motor, so all I had was wires. I went through and identified and tagged each one, and when I had determined that I wouldn't need anything from the passenger side harness, I removed it and plugged the hole. My suggestion for you would be similar. Separate the two harnesses, and identify all of the wires with the wiring diagram, to make sure there's nothing in the computer harness that you need. If there's not, you can remove it. My swap included going to an old TH350 and eliminating ALL other options. Be aware that you may have some options that will be affected or need special attention, such as cruise control, AC, torque converter lock-up, digital speedo if so equipped, etc. I only mention this as I don't know the specifics of these things as they apply to your car, and you'll want to investigate them if they matter to you.

Edit: As I recall, there is also one wire from the passenger side AC box area that makes its way over to the driver's side, for the high blower setting relay. You'll want to identify this, and also check the connector, as it has a tendency to melt and may need to be repaired.

I'd go with a 70s vintage q jet & vacuum distributor. If he reuses the ccc carb, shouldn't he have to rejet it? I would & I'd also grind the secondary tab that keeps them from opening a 100%.

Got it! Thanks I went with the older carb until I get a better intake to go with my performance carb, only thing I'm wondering about is the problem with the transmission not able to shift into overdrive without the computer telling it to

The 200-4R is NOT computer controlled for shifting. It will shift into OD just fine on it's own. The only thing the computer does is control the converter lockup. You can do the same with an aftermarket lockup kit or even a toggle switch.

Is it a q-jet, holley, edelbrock? Most guys on here like the q-jet for a street carb. Your caddy most likely has a tall axle ratio, so I'd be conservative with your carb choice.

Id go with the 650, if the motor was in say a cutlass with 3.42-3.73s I'd say go with the 750.

The motor was out of a delta 88 and it's a 5.7. Should I dejet the 650 with the tune up kit?

I'd bolt it on try driving it, read the plugs. More then likely you'd have to richen it up.
