1969 oldsmobile cutlass 350. What is the proper oil pressure

I've read different threads and couldnt find the proper one. At cold start up my oil pressure gauge is at 60 psi the Rpm idle is unknown but it runs beautifully. When warm and drive around for a bit psi drops down from 10 to 20. Its mostly at 20 until I ride around for a very long time. The engine has 400 miles and am about to drain the break in fluid and refill with vr1 1030 valvoline. I'm just curious to what the psi should be.

The 60 psi cold start pressure sounds good. The 10-20 when warm at idle is fine. I would expect 30-40 psi hot when driving.

im guessing this is a recent rebuild?

Yes sir it's a fresh rebuild. I been putting the car together little by little so I've finally been able to take small drives out of town like 15 miles away. And yes sir 30=40 when driving. When I reach freeway speeds it sometimes is up to 60 (I will double che k on that I could be wrong). When rebuilding my buddy that helped me put it together switched my spring on the oil pump to the high flow spring that came with the oil pump.

Rule of thumb: 10 psi oil pressure per 1000 rpm, more when cold.

Awesome. I haven't hooked up a tachometer yet so I'm not sure what the rpms are. My hei distributor has a hook up for a tachometer but was debating on installing one or not
