I picked up the original engine to my 64 cutlass from the previous owner after he dug it out of a barn. I don't think I will ever do anything with the engine as I already have a built 455 but it might be nice to have (taking up space and in the way.)
It has the original 4 barrel intake, carb, air cleaner and flywheel but I saw that it is missing the water pump, distributer and exhaust manifolds. Was the water pump a one year only item? How about the other items?

 

The water pump was a one year only due to the radiator hose fitting being on the other side of newer years. The distributor has a number showing the year and application but other years will fit and function. The exhaust manifold numbers are a one year only, but again other small block manifolds will fit and function. I do have a couple 1964 330 core engines, if you'd like to complete your motor I can sell you the pieces your missing. Send me a PM or email if you'd like to explore that possibility. John

 

I was looking at the broken 350 still in the car. It has the water pump exit on the driver's side. I looked at photos of my 455 and it has the exit on the passenger side. Could this be the original 330 water pump?


I'm now hoping that it is and that the exhaust manifolds and distributer are as well. I'll have to check casting numbers to find out.

 

Possibly. The only thing I'm not fond of with the 64 330 is the shaft rockers.
