Rocket engine section

Hi,

Don't have anything running a 303/324/371/394 but see questions and post in both big and small block sections.

Might be helpful to add a new section for the early Oldsmobile V8 as they seem to be getting a new interest on other sites in older Hot Rods and Gasser builds.

Just a thought.

Regards,,
Jim

Not a bad idea, but it should be called something else. They're all Rockets!

These probably deserve their own little subforum.

Here's the breakdown I proposed a number of years ago:

First Gen Olds V8
Second Gen Olds V8 (the BBO and SBO are the same except for deck height)
Other Olds Engines
Non-Olds Engines

Here's the very first Oldsmobile Viking V-8 engine series. 1929-30. Would like to have one, this one is in the R.E. Olds museum.

The very first V8 that Oldsmobile offered was the flathead in the 1916 Model 44. It was a Northway engine, so technically not built by Olds.

I remember the planning that we put into the forum lineup years ago, trying to be inclusive of all things Oldsmobile yet wanting to avoid a site that would become so cluttered with a myraid of forums and sub-forums and sub-sub-forums that interest might be lost or something might go un-noticed. I would be one of first to admit that our efforts didn't produce something that was perfect in all ways. We were hoping that the search function and the general forums would capture all that might slip through the cracks. But, times change and if what you have observed is accurate then perhaps a resurgence of one particular engine category might indeed warrant a re-configuration of the site.
