original post date

Is there a way to add a column that shows the original date a thread was posted. There have a lot of threads lately that were originally posted many years ago and brought back to the top by questions to buy, information about a car, or other things that are probably non relevant to the current date.

The original post date (and time) is in the top left corner above the poster's name.

I suspect Ed is talking about putting that info on the forum page that lists all the threads, rather than on the first post of the thread itself. Of course, as you correctly point out, that info is already available and people don't bother to look at it now. I suspect the same thing will happen no matter where the info is.

I have thought the same thing. If it's there, and I see that it is an old thread I won't click on it. Not a bad idea.
