I feel stupid for falling for his scam, I'm too old and wise but it happened. Got me for $200 for taillight lenses and bezels. I missed his 0 posts and recent registration and then sent PayPal (family & friends) to his uncle. SOB had the nerve to just email me asking for more money.

How do you catch one like this registering under different user name?

 

It's hard, the system has been pretty good at weeding them out but nothing is perfect.

 

Found another one of his names Chase Rice getting close to a phone number! I believe he is in the states and maybe NJ

Another clue is this: An out of country scammer. The word kindly is frequently used in their pitch.

 

Except the IP used seems to be a US one. The recent people that got banned were from Georgia, Illinois, and New York.

 

I can make my IP appear to be from Uzbekistan, if I want to, while sitting in Indiana.

Tried to pry it out of her today. Pretty sure she has his correct email and phone number. I don't know much about bitcoin but there has to some information where she sent that.

 

He almost got me to earlier this week.
I received a pm from Jack442 thatsuggested that his buddy, mikedowning628@gmail.com had a part I have been looking for. I reacched out to the guy, and he was very anxious to have me pp him before he sent me pics. The part I am looking for needs to be NOS, and I kept asking him if his part was NOS? He said it was, but the pics I finally recieved was used junk. I politely said in my email "Thanks, but no Thanks---this is NOT a NOS part.
Never heard back from him...

In all the years I have been a member here, this is the first time something like this happened to me. Everyone here seems to be good, honest Oldsmobile people.

That user has been banned also. Used the same email as the previously banned user. Thanks for reporting it.

 

I also received a message from LeroyGreat stating his buddy has what I was looking for and to contact mikedowning628@gmail. I did this and messaged back and forth about but got sone red flags and bailed. Not so lucky with a different person who got me. That person is now banned. I hate thief’s.

I have been a member here for many years. Most of the older members know me and my record. My son has two NORS upper tail light lens that he offered to sell to oldsrush. True he wants a lot of money, but there is no scam involved. These lens are in my possession and wrapped carefully in tissue paper. I have no idea what price they were offered for, but there would not be any problem with the quality or the sale.

 

Are you implying that I have said something? I didn't buy them mostly because he only had the uppers.

 

Nothing was said about you or your wanting the lens. Just that some of us are not scammers when selling parts.
Good luck with finding the lowers, they are harder to find than the uppers.
