Private Message Picture?

Can a picture be sent through private message? I see where you can link a pic stored elsewhere, can you upload and send within a private message?

thanks-

Yes. You have to use a URL. I haven't figured out how to "Browse my computer" to send a pic.

As a moderator, I have full access to all the picture attachment options in PMs, including the "browse my computer" option. Apparently this is not available to non-moderators?

Again, to answer the OP's original question, the answer is No. As a regular CO member, you cannot send a image via PM. Employing a URL is not sending a picture. Using a URL is nothing more than providing a link (URL) to a location.

Joe - We low level minions are unworthy of such advanced features. Here's our capabilities to post an image in a PM - residing down here in the soggy bottoms we simply aren't entitled.

FWIW - This is the primary reason you will see the Parts For Sale CO members who regularly post Parts For Sale indicate in their messages a request to provide an email address so they can provide a picture(s) of the item(s) - they cannot post an image to a PM when responding to a regular CO member - albeit, they ask for an email in which they can send picture(s).

In many respects (and most likely for the reason I am about to describe) regular CO members aren't allowed to embed and/or attach an image in a PM for security reasons. Nearly any person can become a member of CO. The back end software of the CO website is designed to screen, deny, validate & scrub images & attachments which are 'uploaded' to the website by CO members. The CO antivirus s/w runs on the back end to scan website upload traffic. Providing random regular CO members the ability to embed and/or attach images to a PM places the CO website at risk since this makes the CO website vulnerable to attacks via this method. Therefore, it is disabled as a function of good security practices. Placing bombs inside of PM attachments is a known security risk.
