Inserting pictures in post

OK. I never claimed to be computer literate. But I’m not illiterate either. How in the world do you get a picture into a post that is not ginormous? I started my post then clicked on the attachment symbol and chose the photo I wanted and clicked upload. In a few seconds the image appeared on the screen so large the whole image was not visible. I also tried the photo icon with the same result. I know there is a simple answer, I just don’t know what it is? Help? Anyone?

You need to edit the size of the photo prior to uploading it on your PC.

Another way is to use Paint on your Windows PC. Edit the photo with Paint. Within Paint use the Resize function to knock down the size. Save it with a new name, so you don't overwrite your original photo. Then upload the reduced-size version.
