I am not seeing how to send a PM anywhere.

Click on your sitename in the top right hand corner of the screen and click on private messages in the pull down menu. That brings you to the PM message page. Then on the left hand side click on send new message in the control panel. The rest is basically the same as making a forum post.

If you are sending a PM to somebody that has started or posted on a thread, just click on their name and follow the dropdown menu. Easy peasy.
