OK, so I initially logged in with Facebook and without setting a classic olds "password".
Now on second thought, I don't want to log into that dang FB every time I want to log into classic olds.
So I've burned up 2 of my 5 allowed log-in attempts trying to set a pwd for myself to circumvent signing into FB to log in to classic olds.
Neither of the 2 attempts setting a pwd so far got me to a returned email or any ability I could use to set a password on my now established log in with facebook status.

Go to your User Control Panel, then on Left-Hand side of User Control Panel page, go to Edit E-mail & Password. You should be able to make those changes, log out of the site then log back in w/ your newly created password.

Ok, did as suggested using "User control panel" to "get" a password, not "change" it. Problem is, the default program seems to require a former password to set any new one. It refuses to accept the fact that I'm leaving the former password box blank, since I have no password yet.
Now attempting to pm ya, oldcutlass, in classic olds rather than in FB. Soon as I find the box to click to do it.

OK, so ignore the "Contact" notice I sent re. my inability to "set" my pwd after first opting to use FB to log in. Got into my emails and found the one with a generic pwd to use to re-set so I can set my classic olds pwd.
Now have a pwd for this forum. Thanks.
