I tried searching this forum and the service manual. I can't find a list of interior codes for the cowl tag. Is there a list anywhere?

 

It would be easer if you provided some information about your car. Model and year but picture of your cowl tag would be better and quicker.

ST 71-34257 =Cutlass Supreme Hardtop
04-D = build date 4th week of April
LAN 373978 = Lansing built Fisherbody sequence #373978
Trim 988=Sandalwood Cloth & vinyl bench seat with armrest
Paint 61-E = Sandalwood with Sandalwood Vinyl top
B85= molding that separates vintyl top from rest of the car.

These data base are not the final word as there are mistakes. Probably the best couple source would be a copy of the 1971 sales manuals but this should give you a start. Hope this helps some but try the data bas and use the style farthest the right which goes up to 1972. Would be great you post some pictures. Good people here.

The dealer specs book page for the '71 Supreme agrees with the tag decoder as far as option B85. Moldings, chrome side window sill.
