Front Inner Wheel Well Repair

Front Inner Wheel Well Repair
I removed my drivers front fender but spun two of the clip nuts on the inside plastic fender well. This left me with two "bites" out of the fender well where the clip nuts should go. Anyone had any luck repairing them? So far I had planned to pop rivet pieces of thicker sheet metal or aluminum over them to effectively give me a new lip or edge. Any other better ideas?

X2, Plastic welders work good but you have to play with them on other stuff for a while to get the hang of using them. Watch some you tube videos also help. Just be sure you use a plastic welder and not a soldering iron. If the plastic is smoking it is to hot.

My plastic welding sucks so I didn't take pictures. I did manage to establish enough of a plastic filler piece to fill in the bite areas using the welder. It takes practise, I'm not sorry I bought the welder as it will come in handy in the future. I ended up covering my plastic debauchery with the epoxy putty HF sells. You knead it to activate before you apply it. It ends up with the texture of plasticine until it sets hard. Here is a picture of the finished product. Luckily it won't be visible behind the fender lip.

Don't look bad and installed nobody will know. I just got a new welder myself but have not tried it out yet. Here is a hole that I fixed a while back. I could clean it up more and make it prettier but it would take several more hours, with nobody able to see it when installed so it is not worth doing more to it.
