Replacing Carpet - Throttle Pedal Removal
Hello,
I am replacing the carpet in my 1961 Dynamic and need to figure out how to remove the throttle pedal. I was under the car and can see a plate with two screws coming through, but I can see the top of the screws inside the car.
I don't know how to remove the pedal from the throttle bell crank under the dash, any hits would be appreciated.
thx

I'm not experienced with the 1961 vintage. But I have encountered other years that had two fasteners at the base of the throttle pedal. They had a hex shaped stud with a round ball at the top. The gas pedal had two rubber "sockets" that clip over these round ball shapes. You might be able to feel under the pedal or if your carpet is going in the garbage cut around the base of the pedal to try and feel for these shapes. One thing to be careful of is old stiff rubber can crack and break the socket like fitting when you pull the pedal off the studs.
If that's clear as mud let me know and I'll try to find some photos for you.

If it's anything like a '57, it is just a ball and socket arrangement and you just pull it apart. The metal studs below just screw into the plate for replacement if needed. Put some white lithium on the ***** to re-install. Easy peasy.

This is off a different year, but I'm expecting it to looks something like this.
