HARD pedal

Having a problem with brakes on my 67 delta custom. Pedal is very hard and feels as if i dont' even have power brakes. Car is hard to stop unless i really lay on the pedal. Brake booster is new as is the master cylinder. Brakes on all 4's are good and rears have new springs on the self adjusters. Anybody know what the vacuum should be? I can pull the hose out of the booster and not get much of a whoosh.

The hard pedal really sounds like a booster issue. New booster does not necessarily mean a properly working booster.

Are you sure all 4 wheels are stopping?Could the rears be the only wheels that are working?

You might try to slide to a stop on gravel and see if all four wheels are trying to lock up. but as mentioned above it very well could be a bad new booster.... Tedd

Methinks there may be a relation between these two threads, no?

Other than the obvious (they're both mine). Is this a riddle??
Are you thinking vacuum leak may be the relation between the 2???

None or low vacuum means poor power assist=hard pedal.

There is a quick-and-dirty test. Simply disconnect the vacuum hose from the booster and plug it. Obviously you will no longer have power brakes, so be careful. If the engine runs better now, you have a leak in the booster - replace it. If the engine runs the same, fix that problem, as the low vacuum is causing the booster issue.
