Molding clips for 1961 Starfire
Does anyone have a source for the snap on clips that screw onto the side of the body on a 61 Starfire for the chrome strip that goes down the side over the aluminum trim? My car had them off already when I purchased the car so I do not have a clue what they look like and the usual suppliers ( Fusick, Restoration Specialties) do not seem to carry anything for the Olds trim.
Thanks

Everybody sells these clips. They are available in a variety of sizes, depending on the width of the trim you are trying to attach.

Joe, thank you for your reply. I have those clips as wel as similar nylon push in. However the area I am asking about, in the door panel and rear quarter you cannot access the back of the clip to put a nut on it. In those areas the Starfire only shows a screw hole in the gap of the anodized aluminum sideing ( see picture ) and an outline that looks like a rectangular clip was screwed in for the molding to snap over. There are four locations on the door panel for these clips and eight in the quarter panel. The other locations for the molding can use the standard clip you have shown for the 3/4" molding.

No I did not find anyone who had experience with this piece of molding. I ended up using 3/4" plastic clips from a Pontiac supplier. I believe it was the original parks group that I might of ordered these from. Let me know if you have difficulty finding them and I'll look up the invoice

There are clips that have a push in stud that doesn't need a nut on the back side and will work in a blind hole. Works something like a moly bolt. I found the ones I needed at a fastener store..... Tedd
