1970 Cutlass wagon glass needed
We are seeking both rear quarter Windows, as well as a right rear door window for our 1970 Cutlass wagon in very good condition. Glass will need to have green tint. 1968 through 1972 should be the same. Give me a pm if you think you can help. I'd really appreciate it.

Do you know if this glass is interchangeable with the other 68-72 A-body flat top wagons (Chevy Concours, Pontiac Lemans, or Buick Skylark)? If so, we may have to be on the look out for these cars as well.

Thanks for your replies, I've been busy with our Olds Zone Show the last couple of days and have not had a chance to reply. Yes, the quarter windows are typical for all of the A body flattop wagons. Unfortunately there is not very many to be had in salvage. I have been told that the rear door glass is the same for four door sedans, but I am not totally convinced. The arc of the window frame looks slightly different to me, but maybe it's just my perception is off. Aron Nance told me this weekend that he has access to a rotten '70 wagon that I may be able to source the door glass, unfortunately somebody had etched the quarter glasses.

OK, I'm learning more about these cars all the time. But I thought the main difference (aside from roof glass) between the Vista and flat top was the rear doors being longer on the Vista. I've got a 1969 Vista parts car and a 1971 flat top wagon project car that I tried to compare. The problem is My parts car has the glass out, and the flat top has the glass and stainless trim installed. Rough measurements make me think they're within an inch of each other. So... unless someone knows for absolute sure, could you measure the glass you need and someone with loose Vista Cruiser glass could measure that? I'm looking at the big/long side glass right above the rear quarter panels, just on the chance they may interchange. Not the rear door glass.

The wagon is actually at vick's Classic car junkyard in chesnee, sc. I went there to pick up a driveshaft for the 10 bolt installation in my '69 & asked if I could walk around with just a camera, no tools. Took pics of a few interesting things I saw. You can call him at (864) 461-9071. You can tell him the guy who picked up the driveshaft saw the wagon

I found a flat top 72 wagon in the stash today
AX dated glass, kinda dirty.
Probably not green tinted, I did not read all the printing on it.
Plus, it probably has imperfections.
Other than that, just what is needed.
Oh plus getting a pc of glass from here to TX unbroken seems kind of unlikely.
Might as well break it now and pour the pcs into a small box.
*sigh*

Well, I am glad to find out I have a flat top wagon. It is way back in the corner. Forgot I had such a thing. To me it was always the "disk brake donor car," but everything rusted away now. Possibly except the spindles. DB kits are readily available now. It's a coon house now evidently.

FWIW, I shipped a Cutlass S rear window, the big curved one, across country, without incident. I picked up a "shipping sleeve" from a glass guy up the street from my shop. He told me how to safely pack it and I gave it to the Post Office. I figured that it was a learning experience, as I have several of those rear windows.

I've contacted Vicks in SC, but he does not ship any parts let alone glass.. Thanks for the lead though, you never know until you ask. I spoke with Rick at Deep Ellum Glass this weekend at the Pate Meet, he was sure that he had all of the pieces, perhaps even NOS... But when he checked inventory today, he had none of it. He is putting feelers out to locate them though. I am going to make an inquiry with one of my local yards on a Chevelle wagon that was supposedly not available for parts.. Sometimes that changes with time. According to Rick, the rear door glass is in fact interchangeable with four door sedans. The quest continues.....Thanks for any help

Yes, too bad about Vicks, but thanks never the less. I'd called CTC, but they only had a Vista. I found a '69 Chevelle wagon quite some time back in one of our local yards, at the time he was only willing to sell the entire vehicle. I figured I'd stop by to see if it was still there and if maybe he had changed his mind,...you just never know.
