I have a question about an obscure Toyota steel wheel that I hope someone can help with (Koda, you listening?). Yes, this is Olds related.
There were a number of Toyotas built in the late 70s and early 80s with RWD and the 4x4.5" wheel bolt pattern used on the 61-63 F-85s. Many of these cars used styled aluminum wheels, but the base models got plain steel wheels, as shown in the photo. I'd like to use these on my 62 with the factory 62 dog dish caps. I need to know what the outside diameter of the raised bead is, as shown by the red arrow. Scaling of the photo indicates that these might be close to the diameter of the bead on the original 62 wheels. These are 14" x 5.5" wheels and came on cars with disk brakes (stay tuned for that conversion...). If anyone possibly happens to have access to one to measure this dimension, I'd be very grateful. Hollander interchange number is 69283. Thanks.
Don't you need the "bumps" on the raised area to secure the dog dish, or are you going to modify to make them work?
I figured I'd need to add spring clips. There are a number of clip designs available, so I can probably get something to work. People do this a lot when they put late model wheels on early cars and want to keep the caps. Unfortunately, the Wheel Vintiques Smoothies with the 4 x 4.5 bolt pattern are designed to accept a cap that snaps into the recess instead of over it, so they have the same problem (but cost more).
The other nice thing about the Toyota wheels is that they have the four slots around the edge of the wheel center, similar to the OEM Olds wheels. The smoothies do not.
I will ask my buds at a "all Toyota" yard if they have something.
I work at a Toyota dealer but know for sure nothing like that sitting around.
Owner is a neat freak, take offs don't stay very long before the scrap guy gets them.
Will be later next week before I can. PM me Friday if I forget.

I wasn't aware those had the 4x4.5 bolt pattern. The wheel center looks like the right features to accept the dog dish. The 45mm offset is a bit much, however. Keep in mind those were FWD cars. I might be able to use that center in a custom wheel. Of course, $87 each plus shipping is insane, and those cars haven't been seen since the turn of the century. Still worth looking. Thanks.
Having worked at a Toyota dealership in the parts dept. I know this can be researched by a competent parts guy.
If you have them look up the part numbers for the models listed they can tell you where (if any) they are located in the country, which dealerships. There may even be some in Japan. Then it's just a matter of sending a request to the dealership in question to have them search their inventory to verify they are indeed there. If they have them they will probably gladly send them out to eliminate them from their inventory.
Used to do this all the time when I was there and most dealerships are very helpful.
Joe, I talked to Rinker's Auto Salvage(good friends of mine for 30 years) today while I was in town. They did not have any in the yard but they have a network of computerized salvage yards and located 3 wheels that matched your criteria and Hollander number. If you call them they can tell you where the wheels are, etc. I don't know the cost of the wheel, condition or shipping costs. But, if this helps and you are interested, call them at 307-745-8951, 8 AM to 5 PM M - F Wyoming time.
If you find out this works for you, just try car-part.com to search the junkyards. They are showing a set of 4 here: Case Used Parts #1 USA-SC(Marion) E-mail 843-423-4711 / 800-234-2928. Price unknown.
I appreciate all the suggestions, and yes, I'm aware of how to search wrecking yards nationally. Per my first post, I was actually looking for someone who might actually have one of these wheels and could measure the diameter of the raised bead to see if a 9.5" dog dish would fit over it. I was hoping to get that info BEFORE spending money on one. I do realize that was a long shot. Thanks again for all the help.
Joe, I'm sad to report that I did not find your wheels at the Auto Fair. I am also sad to report that probably less that half of a percent of the total parts at the show were Olds parts. BOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
