Looking for Website with 68-72 Axle Ratio Codes

Anyone know of a website, besides Wild About Cars, that has a list of the axle ratio codes deciphered for the 68-72 cars? The sites I've found only have the codes listed for up to the '67 model year.

Also, does anyone know what an L R2 code is? The R2 seems to be for a 2.56 open ratio, but what does the L mean?

Thank you

I don't know where you would find all of them across the manufacturers and years, but here is the 1970 Oldsmobile codes and ratios.

You are correct about the R2 code but I have never seen or heard about a three letter code on an Olds rear.

Some info I came across on the internet...
Someone at the factory could have goofed on the line and put an 'L' when it was not suppose to be... ??? This could be your answer....

Full size models except Jetstar 88:
1959-64 Symbol X (circled). If no symbol, axle is non-locking.
1965-69 "L" followed by number code.
LOOK HERE
1966-69 Toronado Letter code.

L on the tube

In my opinion the 'L' would mean 'LOCKING DIFFERENTIAL' But there are HUMAN Beings working on the line so accidents happen.... Might just be a goof.

OH just discovered anther what it could be...
ALL 1971 Buicks started with a 'L' and had 3 letter codes
IE LKB is 2.56

Now if the Olds and Buicks were built on the same assembly line this could again have been a goof where someone started with the BUICK L then finished with the Olds R2

LR2 Very Possible and more likely - Check the PDF chart below and look at 1971 year.

It is a 12-bolt O-type rear. Seller was not sure of the axle ratio and thought it was in a Cutlass. I think you are correct about being from a full size car.
