WANTED: 1970's Oldsmobile Vista/Custom Cruiser

Really looking for an Oldsmobile Vista /Custom Cruiser in a broad sense. Any condition is acceptable although id like it as close to finished as possible but as long as it doesn't need a complete restoration and isnt rusted out im interested. Obviously needs to be in good mechanical condition. Preferably a third seat and roof rack. Pm me with any offers and thanks in advance!

There was really quite a variation in these over the course of the decade. Do you really just want anything with a 70-something model year? Or do you have something more specific in mind?

The '70, '71, and '72 Vista Cruisers were the last with the roof glass and are much different and much more sought-after (and thus generally much more expensive) than the '73 and later VC's, some of which didn't even have roof glass at all, not even a sunroof, but Olds still kept the name.

The '71 to '76 Custom Cruisers are vastly different from the '77 and later as the earlier ones had the famous clamshell "Glide-Away" tailgate that disappeared into the floor while the rear window slid up into the roof. The '77 and later Custom Cruisers are pretty much the same thing as the '83 you already have. Not sure why you'd want one of those given that you already essentially have one.

The clamshell-era Custom Cruisers don't appear for sale all that often relative to other cars. Keep your eye on ebay, keep your eye on craigslist.

Thanks for the insight, i am looking for the earlier bunch of both models. I know i should probably be more specific but i figured id get more bites/better leads the more general i was. I really have just fallen in love with the early 70s models but i really just want one without all these vaccum lines (;

Yes, i got my two custom cruisers for a steal and am definitely not aiming for a show worthy car. if it needs work, all the better. But i am not going to be buying an $18,000 car. Id even take an 80s custom cruiser again given the chance. I just love these station wagons haha

Here's one. A bit rough, but not beyond salvaging.
