If nobody knows by now im doing a complete restoration of my 92 3.1 Liter Convertible. I have started tearing off the body panels and fenders and taking a look at the rear quarters and behind the bumper cover I have noticed im going to need to weld in some sheet metal. In the meantime the rear bumper was completely crumbled. So I ordered a new one of those. Here are some pics thus far.

Wow! you are moving along quite fast, post up some pics when you put them on.

 

Just finished some more work tonight .... put on one front fender and took off the passenger side. I took some pics, but I have to attach my camera so ill have those up a little later. Rear end is torn apart, but I've almost got the new bumper set to go on.

 

So this weekend was fitting the new fenders on and blowing out some dust and painting the inner fender walls and the undercarriage of the bumper before I put on the new one. I am also trying to figure out how to get the windshield molding off so I can take off the panels around the frame ... they are pretty rotten so Ill have to pick those up.

 

coming along nicely, it will be looking new soon, keep us posted. Your bach stainles molding around the window may have screws on the inside of the car, i made the mistake of pulling on mine and the anchor bolt tore out of the stainless.

 

Thanks for the heads up on the molding. Its going to be tricky .. .even with the Shop Manual its still confusing. lol. Ill keep everyone posted whenever I make a significant change. I can't wait to start sanding her down ... laborious, but its still fun.

The project is coming along quite well and I will have some pics posted of the primer job and start of painting. Should be looking very nice soon.
