Is the problem that the headers are rusted or just that the gasket is bad? If the latter, spend $30 and get a set of copper header gaskets (and spend a little more and get copper collector gaskets also). If you go to manifolds, you will need to replace your head pipes as well.

'75 rocket exhaust manifold

The headers I had were likely warped, couldn't get a good seal even with, good gaskets. I now have a new long block, and am trying to figure out best way to go. A friend said headers tend to have leaking problems (particularliy with the olds.) Its just hard to find a set of good e-manis, and I don't think they make reproductions on that model year. what do you think?

People say a lot of things. I've had headers on several Olds motors that worked fine and did not leak. I'm not aware of any repro small block exhaust manifolds.

Headers or Mai?

Yeah, I'm no expert in the olds engines, but I do knoe that people like yourself use them all day long, so they can't be that bad. Its looking like I'll be doing the same. Someone suggested that I tighten them acouple of times a year (as opposed to reg exhaust) and that should be more than enough. Thanks for the reply!
