80s B wagon RH parking lamp
Needed: RH parking lamp assembly for 83 Custom Cruiser wagon. 80-85 Delta, 80-84 98 and 80-90 Custom Cruiser will work. Car will have to have it to pass VA safety inspection in a few months so it can't be cracked.
PM me with condition and price if you have one laying around. Thanks!

Many thanks! Cruzn, I think they all have the F/O provision. My wagon is not a fiberoptic car but both assemblies have the nipple for the F/O cable, and I think the taillight housings have them too.
They were in nice shape for 35 yrs old and then Bambi came dancing out in the highway...
It has 84 grilles in it now (thanks Joe P!) but I can live with that. The Commonwealth of Vajenya unfortunately can't live with a busted-out lens. State trooper cousin said since both lamps were functioning I'd be good till inspection time, but it has to be fixed to pass.

My used LH Parking Light does not have the provision for the Fiber Optics... I didn't take a photo showing that position... The photo below shows it has no port for the fiber optics...

John: Thank you. So different lenses with and without fibreoptics. However, your photo does not show the backside where the port seems to be but you are looking at the lens. JCDynamic 88: I do not recall any 80 - 85 B bodies with amber turn signals in the bumper, I think they were clear with amber bulbs. 77 - 79 had clear turn signals below the headlights. Front corner lamps next to headlights have some amber for the sidelight but different style for 77 - 79 and 80 - 85.

From what I find searching my part data base and catalogs the non fiber optic parking lights (PN's 914646 & 914645) were superseded with the fiber optics lights in February 1980 (PN's 914869 & 914870)... They most likely continued to use the non fiber optic lights until the stock was depleted which could have been up to when the 81 model year was introduced... I say this because my used lights were removed from an 81 Custom Cruiser which obviously was manufactured after the 2/80 superceded date... The 914869 & 914870 part numbers were used through the 1990 model year...

the amber light i have sure looks like the clear ones pictured .the cornering lamp i was referring to is clear and goes in the lower part of the side of front fender not part of the headlamp trim.

On the back of the light there should be a housing part number which would have been used regardless if the lens was clear or amber... There were actually two housings used one with and without fiber optics and both numbers are listed on the housings... LH PN's 5931817 (w/o optics) & 5937023 (w/ optics)... RH PN's 5931818 & 5937024 respectively...

Hi John: Very interesting information. Maybe 1979 was the first year for the fibreoptics and the Feb 80 would be a mid year introduction. Interesting they have a different bezel or housings for the fibre cars. These are complicated details for a small part of the car, but I sure like the fibreoptic option. Thank you very much for your details and research. Is this a great way to share information or what!!!???
JCDynamic 88: Yes, the cornering light is clear at the bottom of the fender. I was referring to the light around the fender corner from the headlight which is clear and amber on many cars. I have never seen 1977-85 88/98's with amber parking lights below the headlights or in the bumper. It is interesting about the amber lenses. I have a 1970 Pontiac LeMans where most cars have amber front turn signal lenses. However, I ran across two clear lenses for the same car, a one year only lens. I wonder if Canada or other European export location required the amber lenses and now they are in the mix of collector parts??
Thank you all for the conversation. Regards, Trent in Los Angeles

A little more info for the parking lights... According to my part data base there were two other lights available - PN's 915721 & 915722 and listed as a T90 option (Export)... Being for export, it's a good chance these were amber since amber turn signals were/are very common in foreign countries...

i can't remember where it came from but likely i saved it from something i was scrapping,i owned, bought, sold many, many 80-85 olds 88/98s during the mid to late 80s i always saved that stuff along with headlight doors and header panels, bumpers because they fit so many different cars.i'll try to get a # off it.jc
