What is a few dollars between friends ouchWe should ask Al
how he feels about it?Also Canada 3rd largest producer of gasoline
something is wrong? We should be paying less
I am Happy I do not live in BC big money
Al keep enjoying the W 31
Alain
PS I hope I did not offend anybody
I think somebody went the wrong way on the funds conversion.
I think that's exactly what he did, and no one checked his work. If you divide by the conversion factor instead of multiply by it, you get a little over $8 US per gallon, which is what he got.
Not only that, but the decimal point is in the wrong place in his second line:
Gas prices surged to $160.9 a liter Sunday morning.
1.609/liter x 4.546 liter/imperial gallon = $7.31 per Imperial gallon x 1.2(US Gallon) = $8.78 per US Gallon Cdn Dollars. x0.78 exchange to USD = $6.84 USD per US Gallon

Gas prices will knock old car prices down very soon. Anything 1977 and older will be going for half price !! I can start adding more to my fleet at lower costs haha.
We are 118.9 to 121.9 for regular but the price for it and diesel keep creeping up twice a week. People forget diesel, it is up over .25 cents a liter from last year.
I left one damn fine 1970 Olds 442 there many many years ago, but there's plenty not to like there besides the insane gas prices including but not limited to: the weather and the political climate.

Well, the gas prices are related to the political climate. But what's wrong with the weather? Sunny, high of 67, low of 50 -- perfect for May!
yesterday the Bragg Creek Alberta Shell station had it's last day of operation since opening in 1932. For their last open day, they sold regular unleaded for 0.32/liter!! Line up was over 3hrs long and stretched for miles.
Same thing in So Cal. The only problem is So Cal gets its electricity from generating stations in Arizona. So it's OK for them to get all uppity and claim to be about clean air as long as the electricity isn't generated in their back yard.
Hello to all those who enjoy reasonably priced gas except us. I paid $1.55 a litre today for 91 octane for my X5. Thanks Alain. I’m with you. Yes it sucks but I won’t let it stop me from enjoying this great hobby. I went for a cruise tonight with a buddy who drove his black 68 Mustang GT 4 speed fastback. I drove the W31. Put in a new Oldsmobile Z bar, my rebuilt date coded starter and the correct Oldsmobile flywheel inspection cover. The car is running awesome and I enjoy pulling it through the gears. Yes gas is expensive here in Vancouver but life goes on. The good news is we’ve been driving our cars for the better part of 2 months. Al
How much is the pay rate to tax?
I have a friend up there that yes has 40 acres to my 1/2..I pay 10k year for property tax to his 6k..
And i though health insurance was worked into the gas/ tax of some sort?( i pay 24k year).
Not being a dick, honestly just wondering, thank you
Can't speak for Vancouver but our house was around $100,000, $2000 a year in property tax. I made $53,000 and my Wife made $88,000 last year. I get maybe $400 to $500 deducted on a paycheck, a lot more with over time. My Wife $700 to $800 a paycheck.
The big problem with Vancouver is the cost of everything. An AVERAGE house is 1.4 MILLION!! Pack of smokes $14.00, 12 beer $28.00 . A single beer at a sport event is $9.00. Car insurance $2,000.00 if your a good driver. I make $60.00/hr and I just did a budget on my spending. $50,000.00/year on taxes, insurance, elec, heat, fuel, etc. NOT including income taxes. I paid $32,000.00 in income tax last year. I am a tradesman not a bank executive. OH but health care is FREE!! Ya right. I work to pay bills. Not much left at the end of the year. Like a lot of people I know looking to move the hell away from this place.
Vancouver is waging war with the motorist!
Lanes closed for bikes.
I have nothing against bikes, I just think it is stupid to close streets for bikes instead of providing a proper bike lane with out impacting the flow of traffic.
I have been driving it on the sunny roads lol. Plan to take it out later today again. Was out 2 nights ago with a buddy. Not sure Mike what your referring to weather wise it’s been very nice. Yes we get a smattering of rain here and there but it’s been beautiful. No lack of cruising. Al
I can vouch for Al I seen him cursing in his W 31 already this year. Al drives his cars and that is nice to see in the age of the bubble warped collector.
Yikes, Vancouver sounds brutal. I will take my $20+ an hour here in Saskatchewan. Even our Challenger is just around $1200 a year. My 70S, $168. I take back my complaint on how much my worthless 88 Cutlass is to license.
Just got back from a burn this evening. I actually went out twice because I came back and did a small adjustment on the clutch. Man this thing is running sweet. Yes Vancouver is an expensive place to live or visit but I grew up here and plan to stay. What a beautiful night for a cruise. Loving this W31.
Shops looking good Al. Going to get my Olds out of storage this weekend. Hope to see you at the Canadian Tire Friday. On a positive note when the weather is nice in Vancouver it is one beautiful place.
