They're not calling it a 442 even though it has 442 markings.
Likely because it's a Faux-Four-Two...
Obligatory repro hood
Repro wing (on a convertible)
Obligatory "W-30" stripes
350 motor
Non-Qjet carb (not location of fuel hose)
Non-original air cleaner (likely to clear the added HEI?)
Drum brakes
I wonder which 350 the vin calls for. Single exhaust would disprove the 442 package quickly.
Not at all. For 1972, RPO W29 was available with any engine offered in the four Cutlass models. That ranges from the L32 350 2bbl single exhaust motor with a pavement-ripping 160 HP through the L77 300 HP W-30 motor. Remember that no 442 with a 350 motor got the cutout back bumper.

Joe, to be clear, 1972 442 models with the 350 engine were not available from the factory with the cutout rear bumper?? Only the 455 engines?? Not to digress, but the W-29 option in 1972 442 provided what equipment??

The only small block powered Olds that ever got a cutout bumper from the factory was the 1970 Rallye 350. 1972 W-29 cars with a 350 got the straight bumper. Think about it - you could get a 442 with a 350 single exhaust. Was Olds going to use only one trumpet?
The SPECS booklet tells you exactly what was included in RPO W29. Pinstripes, hood lovers, hood stripe decal (Y73), 442 grills and emblems, and FE2 suspension.
