Cool rare 1969 Option (Chevrolet)

A rare 69 option I found rather interesting, so I'm passing it along. The head light washers are somewhat rare and were used on several models for a few years. I've only ever seen them on late 60s Impalas and RS Camaros, but they could be had on other models as well(Chevelle Elco). I've never seen or heard of the liquid tire chain option, 69 only...think analog traction control...lol. Wonder how long it took to go non-functional rust up and or rust through the wheel wells.

The headlight washers were also on 1970 and very early 1971 Corvettes. I had a 1971 Corvette built in mid-December 1970 and it had the 5-port washer pump but, by then, the headlight washer system had been deleted so two of the ports were just closed off to each other with a small piece of washer hose. As I understand, later 1971 Corvettes had just the standard issue 3-port washer pump. I never heard of the liquid tire chain option - interesting feature!

Randy, Cool info. I was wondering if the plastic fantastics had the option. Can't recall seeing one on a vette either.

Although I have heard of the system, I have never seen one up here. When travelling in snow, the tires flip snow up and around the wheel well where it sticks and therefore makes that option useless when the car is parked, unless the wheel well is bare at the spray outlet.

68 and 69 Impala/Caprice could have had hidden headlights. 68 especially looks good with them. All I ever saw the headlamp washer option on were 69 hidden headlamp big Chevys and Vettes. Did not know they were available on A and F body cars.

I know a guy who had the liquid chain option but he used to use bleach in the system for the best smoke show I’ve ever seen

If I'm not mistaken I've seen the liquid chain option on a full size Buick at a show last spring. It leads me to believe it was an option on full size GM cars. Joe, you out there? Can you confirm?

From what I understand it was a loose justification for liquid tire chain and more of a drag racing traction compound dispenser in reality.

Long time since I've seen that many gills and dome hoods...

Didn't I tell y'all 68 big Chevys wear the hideaways well?
