I have a 1971 oldsmobile delta 88 that I race on the dirt track and I bent an axle. It's a 28 spline and measures 31 3/8" long. It's a bolt in style non c clip. Does anyone have one they'd like to get rid of? Or maybe know of a place that sells them cheap? My racing budget is small.
Steve, I replied to your message on my parts thread. I have a 9.3" rear from a 1970 Delta 88. If that's the size of rear end you have then yes I've got a good axle. John
If anyone can help with identification and information on this rearend I would appreciate it very much. The cover is a 10 bolt with cut outs and the ring gear has 10 bolts. The ring gear has 1234476''41-16''gmc 3. The 3 could be a backwards E. Under the pinion has 1235188 and then CFO. Is this a 10 bolt with a 8.5 gear? Is it original?
Only 8.5 will work from full size cars in the 1971 - 1976 era.
Impala

All the rears of the rears 8.875 pontiac found in the mid hp cube cars 400 etc and 455 cars were all 31 spline axles.
Only 10 bolt 8.5 that is it. 1971 - 1976 full size cars
