cruise transducer year

[QUOTE=stevengerard;1057192]Going through some parts and found more cruise control parts. Anyone know for sure what year this transducer is from?
This was used in the 1970 442/Cutlass models - I have one in mine.

That's what I thought. That is what mine looks like and I have had the car since the early 90s but wasn't sure. Mine seized up and I must have found this one at some point as a back-up. The 70 cruise parts seem to be unobtainable so I have no real idea what is correct or not. Looking at the assembly manual this looks right but there is no part number on this (or in the assembly manual)

Not so fast...There were basically 2 transducers used in the 70's and 80's. The big difference is in the number of terminals on the transducers. The one you pictured has two terminals, some have 3 terminals. I'm not really familiar with the 70 Cutlass/442 system, and I'm not near my books. But...I know for a fact my 70 GS455 with factory cruise uses a 3 terminal transducer.

Ok, hopefully someone can help figure this out. So far reading the response I have a no, yes and a maybe. And of course my car is not near by so I can't run out and check the difference, if any, with the one on the car.

ok, that makes some sense but in 70 I believe it was either on or off correct? Turn the switch to on, then press the cruise button on the end of the turn signal stalk and that sets the speed. No resume on that.

To the best of my knowledge 1970 442/Cutlass' only had two terminals. My cruise harness has only a plug for two terminals.

I posted this link a while back and carries some good information about these units. (Forget the title)
