Oldsmobile Race Cars

I love this thread.
Does anyone have some good clear pics of the type of slicks and tires from the 66-72 time period for these cars ?
Did 66-69 W-30's come with chrome valve covers ? How about the non W-30 442's, did they ?
I sure would love to see some more pics and hear more about that Holben 76 Vista Cruiser. I thought the current owner or one of his buddies was on one of the Olds boards. That may have been Bruce's old board.

Currently owned by Dennis Dunlap. Car may be painted white and gold now or in the process of being painted as such. I think the car now has a 403. I cant remember if Dennis is on this site or not. Dennis is a member on classracer.com. I think there is a post earlier on this thread from Don Holben about the car. Don bought it new with a 455 and raced it with great success. Don painted it black in 1982 removing the woodgrain. I think Don got rid of it by the end of the 80s if not 1984. Don raced the car until maybe 83. I will try to find the post and confirm this.
ONLY PICTURE I HAVE AFTER THE WAGON WAS PAINTED BLACK
MISLABELLED AS A CHEVY WAGON

66 and 67 W-30s came with chrome valve covers - NO NOTCH -- I have some good pix of a set of M&H Racemaster 7" Stocker slicks - originals from 1968. Will post em if i can.

That 371 dragster is bad azz. Would it be possible for you to post more pics ?
It is disturbing to hear how many of these cars got destroyed.
Check out my model car thread in general if you have'nt already seen it.
I have the decals to do Bureski's purple convertible. Pretty wild that it's actually a real pace car.
Just how many cars did the Smothers Brothers sponsor ?

I think the track is Indy. I cropped this 71 Cutlass Supreme
convertible out of the background of a photo. Can't tell if its a
SX but I bet it is. Looks similar to the Seger/Griffin SX(I use in my
signature picture below) before it was painted
white and converted to a 72 but the Seger/Griffin SX had a white top, white
interior, and dual sport mirrors whereas this car in the above photo has a
black top , dark interior and a chrome drivers mirror.

Supposedly a real '70 (factory or dealer sponsored?) car that also campaigned as a '72
The ad
