Mine makes 504 hp @ 5300 RPM and 570 ft//lbs torque at 3800 RPM. HP starts dropping at 5400 RPM, my build was intended for spirited street driving with good manners. Combined with a TKX 5 speed and 3.73 rear end it's very drivable. I run Shell 93 octane. Got all my parts from Bernard Mondello Racing Enterprises based on his recommendations after a great discussion regarding my needs. He, and other members here are very knowledgeable and helpful sources.

1969 455 bored .030 over, 10.1:1 compression
CP Bullet pistons
Stock CN crank
Scat H Beam rods
New gen Edelbrock heads (blueprinted by BMRE)
Performer Intake (with divider modification)
Howards Cams roller camshaft
Harland Sharp 1.6 Roller rockers
Hi Flow Oiling pump and system
High Capacity oil pan
MSD ready to run distributor
Quick Fuel 850 cfm carb
McRobb mechanical fuel pump

This combination could make a few more HP with slightly larger headers and an RPM intake, but I'm not complaining!

Thank you, VI Cutty, for that comprehensive outline of your very effective build.

For others who may be inexperienced, your fuel pump is from RobbMc, available at https://www.robbmcperformance.com/products.html

Would you please post the duration at 0.050"? The numbers are obscured by a reflection.

I've got a stupid amount of money tied up in my 468, and I'm pretty sure it's at least 500hp. I don’t know that you need a bunch of expensive parts, just quality machine work, attention to detail, and a good balance job. Using the lightest rotating parts affordable will certainly help as well.
I'd definitely go solid, roller lifters, though. You don't have to check them as often as you think, and if something does change, it means you have a bigger problem. There's a thing with running them on a hydraulic cam grind that works really well.

This is a pretty basic and easy to execute build.
455 +.030/+.060
H-Beam Rods (Scat, Eagle, Molnar etc.)
CP Bullet series pistons
Unported Edelbrock heads or ported big valve iron heads
230-240 @.050 hydraulic roller cam
Torker or Performer RPM intake
850+ cfm Holley

That's about how I would do it with one difference, I'd stay with a carburetor with no more than a 1.45 venturi. Don't buy the carburetor due to advertising CFM it can be misleading. Personally, if using out of the box carburetor I'd go with a 780 vacuum from QF, if street driven, a 750HP or 950HP Classic for more race. Also, to make it live no wild burn outs.

^^^^^ I’ve done a dozen of that combo, typically makes 520/570. Good street perf build.
