Oil pump?
Oil pump?
What’s the part number for the go to oil pump? In the past, I always used the Melling high volume, I think the part number is M-22Fvh. I recall a discussion here about the oil pumps that include different regulator springs, same number? And what about the bolt on pickup for the 8 quart pan? Thanks.

EDIT: I ordered & replaced the pickup and new screen at the same time. Can't recall any numbers, sorry. They went together like clock work though. Really happy with the Melling products.

I’m using a 8 quart Milodon pan so I definitely need the deeper pickup. The engine currently has a modified Toronado pan with the halfshaft hump removed.
Just trying to use as much leftover parts as possible.

Just to add to the discussion- I had the 468 rebuilt in 2020. It was apart last year for a dropped valve (again). Upon removal of the oil pump, I found a brown colored spring with the builder's shim that looked to be about 3/16". The engine ran normally around 40psi hot, falling below 20 at idle. I ordered a new pump; it came with a green spring installed, and a pink spring as an option. I immediately installed the pink spring and the aforementioned spacer. Cold fire up netted a new high pressure rating of 85psi over the previous 60. I haven't driven it yet, but expect to see higher hot idle pressure than previously.
* This is all with Melling 22HV pumps and Canton pan/pickup. Various weights of Brad Penn oil have been used (SAE 30 break in, 10w-30, 10w-40, 15w-40), but they never made much difference in pressure readings.

Yeah, the most I saw out of factory pump and pan was 70 psi. Now with the purple spring in the Melling high volume oil pump, Canton pick up and pan, 80+ psi cold with 5 QT 10W30 and 1QT 20W50, 6 QT total VR1. The lowest oil pressure hot, coolant at 185 is 35 to 40 on my fresh 358 idling at 700 rpm.
