Why is it that threads within this forum can't stay on point? People just have to troll, hijack, and constantly bicker with one and other. I'm not going to call individuals out, but you know who I'm talking about. This is a warning, it needs to stop!
Racing is always going to be a little bit of a pissing match and it carrie’s right onto this forum.
But the one-ups-man-ship here is its own kind of stupid.
I think the real car guys are very supportive of each other. Happy for each other’s accomplishments.
And the rest are just wannabes who need prove themselves
by telling others how much they don’t know.
It’s like a Vortex of whiny children sometimes.

My, my, my you guys. All these innuendos and images. I just don't get it. Eric stated a valid point it seems. Maybe engine builders are competitive and maybe they do like to talk "smack" to other builders but it reflects poorly on themselves and on us, the members of Classicoldsmobile.com if we don't call it out as unacceptable on our site. I don't like seeing it and suspect that many members don't either so do something next time it crops up. Be honest, candid, brave, and yet calm. Call out that kind of behavior as unacceptable here.

Apparently, some of you just don't get it, so I'll just be blunt. You know the old joke about how parents bring children into the world and can easily take them out... Well I brought the Racing and Performance forum into this world in the hopes that we can have educational and productive discussions about high performance Oldsmobiles with racers and builders. If it's just going to be a new extension of ROP or Yellow Bullet, it will go away and you guys can just go back to those sites.
Aaaaaaaand, here goes the overmoderation. That's the one thing I hate worse than velcro shoe's "advice", which is nothing more than pointing out what your car SHOULD do. JFC, kick us all off, then go make some more subforums.

It’s been a good run for me here, and hopefully helpful to many, but I’m done posting builds here anyway. I’m tired of fighting with people regarding credibility, just because I, nor most of customers, don’t race. The fact that Mahle, Molnar, Scat and most notably Edelbrock believe in me enough to come out with new products for the Olds community, It just amazes me that there’s still doubt.
I’ll be posting some of my builds on FB moving forward and hopefully on my website soon thereafter. I have a couple of interesting and relevant ones coming up too so it should be worthwhile.

The IC is still up for debate, Ron. I had it shorter and it spun more, but hit the tires harder. I recently moved it out to soften the hit.

Back years ago when I became aware of forums, I constantly was being critiqued on dyno HP numbers. We made several trips to other peoples dyno's in a effort to prove our point, and I can say we did prove our point. I even had a customer buy an engine from me, and when they knew it shipped they called me and told me a group of people from the forum put the money together to dyno my engine on their local dyno. Even though I was very involved at the time racing a 10.5 tire heads up NA class, I took the time to build a Chevelle to show case my production oval port headed BBC engines I built, to further prove dyno HP backed up at the track. So I guess you could say I do get carried away with the performance part, its just who I'am. I finally got the NA 327 shop truck to run 11.98, and now I can't stand Copper and Flemming running quicker than my shop truck, so I'am going to do something about that after I get a few jobs done.

Gee I got a time out for less Eric ! Oldcutlass! I actually see value in the Racing and high performance forum. It was a pretty much dead forum till I asked Eric to change it. Now that there is more active engine discussions . Racers are discussing problems and successfull results. Let's just go back to a dead forum! Heat debates will always happen when it comes to power!! When does Sunday school start?
I am well aware of the car's potential, and if it were a trailer queen, race only car, it would have a cage and be there.
I want to be able to drive it anywhere, fill up anywhere, take an exit ramp at a speed close to normal traffic, and not have to crawl into and out of a rollcage, all while being a respectably quick Olds powered Oldsmobile. I'm about 85% there.

Why do adults have to tolerate bad manners, lack of courtesy, bad language and insults to enjoy Racing and High Performance ? Oldcutlass is sending a message that a few are screwing things up. Stop it !!!!!!
I am seeing that Oldsmobile on Facebook is a better match for me. Made many friends with Olds drag racers and Olds enthusiasts there. Some from here. And those who are not from here. Who are helpful. And TROLLS are not tolerated!

That is 100% true. It would be one thing if he has been claiming one thing a people actually complaining it's un-true, I have personal not seen it. If he claims 1000hp so what as long as that customer is happy. By picking at his results continuously is a slap to the face on what he has worked to achieve, that's real disrespect.
The same engine could be installed in my 1966 Olds Toronado, or 1970 Cutlass "Drag car, or Fleming's 442. We would see three different E.T. ranges and three different MPH's. Did the engine make power any differently ? Nope. A multitude of variables just reared its head. Chassis set up, torque convertor, transmission, rear gears, tires, tire diameter, tire pressure, drag strip traction, altitude, all have an effect.
If people think this "real world" validation of engine dyno HP works, then they need to go back and read some old Hot Rod magazines to establish basic knowledge.
