My '72 always smells like gas, esp. in the garage after I drive it. The purge side of the canister isn't hooked up. The canister is original and I am thinking of just buying a Dorman 911-261 canister. The question is what to do with the purge port. I have a Holley 0-82651 carburetor in a Vortech enclosure. Should I try the timed or manifold vacuum port? Should I use a one-way valve to keep the purge side only on vacuum (so positive pressure doesn't go back the other way?).

I would install a small restrictor of .025 or so in the purge line along with a one way check valve to hold off the boost from it, and run it to a source that has full manifold access at all times.

I have seen those restrictors in the ends of check valves before even, so I would look there.

I will even check my stash to see if I might have one I can send you.
