Ultimate siamesse nascar sbo

I know some here are watching - following Kevin Smith (Soccermom) Siamese NASCAR block. I think everyone should know this all-out SBO engine build. Facebook Oldsmobile Max Performance BTR

Interesting, thanks for posting.

Why do they separate the cooling system between the heads and block, what is the advantage? Are the grooves in the deck around each cylinder for better sealing and a different design head gasket?

Just a guess on my part. To keep head cooler, to get a denser air - fuel - NOS into the head? All out drag racing. Groove for O ring. More compression.

If/When you lift a cylinder head under pressure, you don't push water.

Regarding the grooves and rings, this article was in the NMCA magazine a while back, explains it pretty well: https://www.racepagesdigital.com/blo...plication/2769

Kevin has been an Olds guy forever, he was on ROP back in the day (15-20 years ago) when all the fast Olds guys were on there, his '78 cutlass hauled *** with a 350 gas block combo. Pretty sure this new engine that Bill is building is for that car, it's been in the works for a long time.
