Torque converter help or direction

Wasn't able to make it to the track last year, this year if it kills me!!
Pretty certain my current converter isn't a wise choice, 32-3400 stall (last time at the track, hooking up with the old 468 fwiw)
It was built by a local reputable converter rebuilder and can't say I have had a problem with him, it's just a budget converter that's for sure! Drove it around a fair bit last summer, ran awesome and made super torque and power, a few times I swear I heard a hissing from underneath. This was in 2nd or 3rd and feeding it, wasn't an exhaust noise. I assumed it was the converter because it is not a race/high quality unit. I was just thinking the converter is/was pissed off and there's fluid turning left instead of right inside there..
My combo:
69 olds 442, stock body, removed the bench, installed a roll bar and 2 kirkey seats. So 3900 lbs ish?
th400
495 stroker
10.7:1
rocket racing heads cnc 2.20 int 1.71 exh
850 qf
camshaft lift= .595" int .587 exh, dur at 0.050" = 242 / 248, installed 107 centerline and 110 lobe separation. Is a hydr roller that now has solid rollers (long story, or not, you know if you know) so cam specs are to be considered smaller I suppose.
12 bolt chevy with 3.73's
welds with 29 10.5 m/t tires
I really wish I had some dyno results to share, but I don't.
Is this enough info for recommendations on good converter that won't waste my hp? Doing some reading, it's pretty overwhelming on where to start.

Do you know your shift points or have a dyno sheet?

Stall will typically be 1200 1500 from your shift point for all out efforts. This is not a hard rule but a good start.

Thanks for the reply
I wish I had a dyno run or print out, I was planning on shifting at 5700-5800

I've got a pretty tight 3800 rpm converter in my car and has good street manors and is a beast at the track. It's a Coan converter.

With a 455 making the torque it does, 3.73 gears, high stall. You MUST have an anti-ballooning plate in that converter. Otherwise, you will eventually wipe out the thrust bearing in the engine.

I'd recommend calling a reputable converter company and giving them as much information as possible along with your goals and let them custom build a converter for you. Some companies to consider would be Ultimate, PTC, Coan and ATI.

The Coan converter in my car makes a whiring noise just off idle. It’s done that for 20 years, and still does it after having it cut open for inspection. I’m guessing some converter cores/stator/pump combinations make noise. It’s very faint, but if you know what your listening for it is there. Not sure if that’s what your hearing.

Your combination is very similar to mine. I have the paperwork for my converter at home if your interested. My best 60ft has been a 1.54

Any change the noise is coming from your pump?

Chuck. I got a converter from Lenny at Ultimate Converter. I sent him my engine and car specs plus what I was looking for and it’s been great. You can’t go to cheap but it’s an Olds so your used to it
he will redo it if it’s not to your liking.
Nice looking car, should haul the mail. Combo sounds good to me.
My car is a street car that I’ll take to the track. The converter drives like a stock unit. I had a cheapskate one prior and if you touched the gas rpm shot up 500-700 rpm but car would not speed up. Just flashed up

Any of the other companies mentioned above , I am sure will build you a unit as well
Glen
