Not so impressive track run

First run was decent, good launch but accidently short shifted and still smoked the guy in the next lane. First two cars out and of course the time ticket machine had issues. Next launch was brutal over foot braked the car and spin out with a brutal 2.9 60 ft and an awful 10.4 in the 1/8. Got pulled over to the side because of a trans leak, thinking it was the over flow hose, I need to add a catch can on there. This the last trip to the track with the 88 CSC, disappointing like every thing else lately.

I don't really understand. I have had only two failures in over a thousand passes. One was for a broken throttle cable at the 1000 ft mark. The other was when a trans brake didn't hold at the line. Both cost me races for the cash. I did have a fan blade come apart once on the turn pike at 65mph but that don't count because it wasn't at the track. Sorry to hear about your disappointing time at the track. A day at the track is better than a day at home mowing the lawn, cleaning the garage, planting trees, ect, ect.LOL

True enough, I was only looking for a couple of tenths anyways. I need more can, that will rectified before the 350 goes in the 70 S.

theres no curses...its what you decide to do with what your dealt that guides your destiny..in other words..you have control...

you may have set back..but get up..knock the dirt off and keep going forward...

and dont do it the same way next time..learn and change

i think of this often..amd i am guilty many times...

It happens. It took me almost 3 years to get my car on the track after i bought my house. Engine pooped out . The trans pooped out then my frame finally gave up then my engine popped a head gasket but once it all came together it was worth the fight and effort. The last 2 seasons have been enjoyable and the car has been very enjoyable and trouble free for the most part but it took sometime to get the I's dotted and T's crossed.

LOL My ribs are hurting. Thanks for the link. You are right. The other guy hit his head on the steering wheel while trying to figure out which gear he was in.

It was a great start, then I blew the next race and had to go home with the leak. I was hoping for a personal best again with the 88 before it is retired from the 1/8 mile. Either way the 70 S will be much faster with a cam swap and 3.90 posi vs 3.42 open gears in the G body.

That guy, LOL that's probably the funniest thing I've seen at the track, and I've seen a lot of ricers too.

At my track you're not allowed to re-stage like that if you go too deep, you have to back up like 10 feet and stage all over again (to eliminate the risk of starting in reverse). Not a bad idea apparently...

And what's up with the u-turns right after the finish?

Usually it is setup for the otherside during test n tune with no barrier. I think it worked better and went like hell this time because I caught hell last time for going too slow into return lane.
