New Personal Best
Went to US41(no limit dragway) in moroco, IN yesterday with the 442 and ran a new personal best.
11.52 @ 115 with a 1.56 sixty foot time.
also ran the same exact time once more with a 1.59 sixty.
First and slowest run was an 11.67 @113.
Made a total of 7 runs without a single issue.
Brief combo update.
69 442 all steel except front bumper with full interior
3.42 olds 12 bolt axle
tci 32-3500 10" converter
th400 reverse manual VB
+.40 455 = 464
890 cfm holley
torker intake
Ebrock heads
2" hooker super comps
3" exhaust
Lumati Voodoo cam flat tappet hydraulic
Over the winter I honed the cylinders, installed new rings bearings and gaskets. Also self ported the heads and intake.

Yup. i'll try to post them up tonight. My dad ran his 67 GS and cut some better 60s along with gettin air under the left front. My friend Rob ran a new best of 11.84 in his 55 Dodge Ram with a dual quad 457. Its was a great day with super weather for a change. 75 and overcast, a little humid but not bad.

If it's an NHRA sanctioned track the roll bar rules start at 11.50 or quicker...if it's not sanctioned it's up to the track owner.
Here in Houston Hennessy bought a track in Sealy and it is not sanctioned. As long as your car isn't shoddy he will let you run it. There have been stock body Supra's running 9's out there without cages and such.

I can't count how many times I've been told to not come back until I have a 6 point in the car and NHRA legal seat belts.
Now that I don't have any Nitrous on the car, it's not a problem.

My home track is NHRA sanctioned. If the track lets a person run and looks the other way on safety issues and they wreck their car, the insurance pays half. So you are actually taking a big gamble running sub 11.50s without a bar.

May go to air bars of antiroll bar over winter to level out launch. Pulls just the left front tire off the ground. I would also like to go to a better set of adjustable shocks. Front of lower control arm mounts are gusseted along with the upeer control arm mounst with 3/16 steel plate. Battery is up front and have a steel with heim joint torque strap with stock rubber motor mounts. Other plan is moving the battery and adding a BTR or HVH tapered four hole carb spacer to replace open center moroso peice. Hope all this helps you and me both.

My best last year was an 11.63 at 113. On average I'm about .15 faster. I basically sand rolled the intake ports, cleaned and lapped the valves, checked the valve springs, and polished the combustion chambers. I spent most of my time porting and polishing the Torker. Trying to get all the runners equal. I had thought of swapping to a victor jr but I drive the car more than race it and figured I would only see a small gain if any with that intake since its rated to run at a high rpm. I shift at 5500 and cross the finishline at 5300. I could use more gear but always wanted to see how fast I can go with the 3.42 gear.

Southside machine lift bars, boxed stock uppers, CE 3 way adj shocks, moroso trick rear springs, and hotchkis tubular frame braces that go between the upper and lower mounting points.

As far as the control arm mounts, I know gusseting can't hurt but did you see evidence of cracking or anything that made you want to do it? Just wondering if I should do it before I create a problem for myself.
Also, where can I find specs on your engine? I just want to know if I am being too optimistic expecting 11.50's out of it. I made 492 / 544 before changing the head gaskets and upping the compression a little bit.
I'm in the same boat, I drive my car more than I race it so I don't want it to be too squishy on the road I wish I could drive it to the track but it's an hour and a half each way... I can't afford the gas lol!

Wow, I'm hoping my car can run about what you are running. I ran 12.11 @ 112 last time out but I don't have much for suspension. I am running SSM's as well but everything else is stock. I plan on doing the anti-roll bar and some QA1 adjustables soon...and maybe some boxed upper control arms. I have a 3.42 gear as well

I originally started my engine build in 02 copying a build CAR CRAFT did and up til now things have progressed. Never been dynoed, car or engine but my guess is 520 hp and alot of torque.
Your engine probably has enough power to go 11.5 but weight and rear suspension helps alot. I probanly have gained 1/2 a second just from tweaking the rear and I'm not done yet.
Ireplier on your thread and want to make some changes too. Probably QA1s and an antirool bar but we'll c where the $ is this winter.
let me know if I can be of more help.
