Smile Help me.

I recently bought a 1970 CS w/ a 455 in it. I have a budget of 13k for the engine. I want to do a performance rebuild, within the bounds of my budget and the law as it pertains to street cars. Performance will be my priority behind longevity. I would plan to frequently drive the car during the better seasons. Goal: 550/575 hp, 600 lbs/ft tq. Suggestions?

You might get in touch with Mark Remmel. He's @cutlassefi on this forum. He's in Florida, but may be able to help even if you don't live near him.

I would consider looking for a runner that someone is pulling out. They do pop up now and then. You might get lucky. Engine rebuilds can drag out from months to more than a year and be very frustrating. If you're set on going through the process I hope things work out.

In addition to the engine, pay attention to the rearend. Get gears that match your engine.

You'd think so, wouldn't you?

I have a stroker big block build going to the Dyno probably the end of next week, should make right about the power you’re looking for. I’ll post the details then.

Where do you live that local laws may come into play? What type of fuel do you have available?
