Alcohol--Helps with low end torque and runs cooler. But I like injection also, carbs are too messy with taking the bowls off to make changes.

Well machine shop guy was trying to get me to switch to E 85. I use 50/50 gas/110. He said I would use twice as much alcohol than race gas! The E 85 was the way to go! I am on the fence because I have not used anything other than50/50.

Yes you will use more Alky than race gas, Alky use to be 1/2 the cost for M1 than race gas, doesn't look like that anymore
110 is around 8.5-9.0/gal
M1 Methanol in 54 gal drum is 6.3 VP product, there is a M3 & M5 which make more power but also cost more
E 85 is Ethanol and will burn more than 110 and give off less burn, so down on power.
Might be OK for street car, not so good for strip. I guess if you can get a really hot ignition set-up you could add more and burn more E85 and get power out of it.
An IHRA alcohol FC guy use to make it work many yrs ago.
Since you use a 50/50 mixture, I think I might just stay with that.

This may help? Try to find 100% pure gasoline with no alcohol to blend with your racing fuel. Here in Michigan BP premium 93 octain is 100% pure. At the BP pump handle it's labeled "Amoco". My 10.5 to 1 Olds 455 runs great on it straight and I get a notable improvement in gas mileage. Tom

Its 93 octane and 100 percent as in 0 percent alcohol.
In BC we have 94 and 93 Octane fuel with out alcohol.
There are a few cars running 11 .5 + on 94 octane.
I have also seen guys running water methanol injection with the 94 Octane at the track.

E85 is far better than people give it credit for. My 93 Camaro 406 sbc with powerglide trans ran 10.57@127mph on 110 VP.....No other changes Switched to E85 Carb and Pump E85 Went 10.33@128mph best passes on both. There was a torgue difference I could feel on launch and gear changes. My car loved it.
