Yes, just like the previous billets were. They’ll be as drop in ready as physically possible.

 

Another update;
A forging is pretty much out of reach, too much involved. HOWEVER, we're exploring the possibility of doing a Cast Steel, capable of 550-600hp. But we may do a 3.875" stroke instead of 4.00" in order to gain a little more journal overlap and subsequent strength. With that there may be more off the shelf piston choices as well. And let's be honest, a regular gas block isn't going to handle much over 600 anyway without lots of work.
Everything else would be the same, drilled for man. trans, internally balanced, bull nosed counterweights and large radius' with the rod throws drilled for a lighter overall weight.
Best part, cost would most likely be at or near $800.00, plus the ride.

That results in a 405-410 with the usual .030-.060 bore, correct?

Ok, it looks like this is going to come back full circle.
A forging is out, and we’re even having a problem getting a casting that’ll work without me coughing up 50k for a new configuration.
So, it looks like we may be back to a 5140 billet. BUT at a lesser cost than before. Towards the end of the previous round they got to be over 2k apiece. I believe I could now offer them for about $1550-1600.00. Obviously now I need to re-evaluate the interest level. All the same features as before, SBC rod journals, everything else done in Olds dimensions. And counterweights would most likely be bull nosed instead of knife edged. But still profiled nonetheless.

Hey fellow SBO folks, I can't be the only one interested in this crank. I don't know about you, but I'm too old to get a chance to do this again on my engine, so I'm not going to let a few hundred $$ stand in my way, especially when it is the good stuff that is worth every penny.

 

$800 and $1,200 were simply easier numbers to commit to ahead of time, than $1,550-1,600 is. I'd probably still order one from Mark once they are available, but I don't feel comfortable giving Mark a confident "yes" and then something happens on my end and I have to go back on my word.

Mark, I'm a patient man, I have plenty of other things I can be working on my car besides the engine in the meantime. So whenever you can pull together a deal on this crank & stroker kit, you can count on me. Thanks.

Ok coming down the home stretch. Just looking to finalize a freight cost to me.
Final specs;
4340 Billet
4.00” stroke
SBC rod journals
Everything else will be Olds dimensions
Internal balance for a 1800gr bobweight
Profiled counterweights
Lightening holes in all rod throws.
Selling price should be no more than $1500.00, or about $5-600 less than before, and better material.
Estimated availability should be late Spring/early summer 2024.

Yes, but Peyton Hunt has already committed to making spacers available for D/Dx blocks at a reasonable price.

 

What's a ballpark price for a kit with crank, rods, pistons, rings & bearings? 500-ish HP street car.
